'Twas the eve of the silent night
The Christmas season definitely brings out the people, wallets, and their best and worst sides to the stores. Bad news for us if they turn out to be the meanies who cannot find what they want. The bookstore has been a madhouse the past couple of days. Everyone starts of fresh when we come in for our shift and by the time we get on our first 15-minute break, the staff room has a totally different atmosphere.
Oh, how we love the last-minute Christmas shoppers, especially those who remain calm in the face of book shortages, crowded stores and long lines. Then there are those who would just stop at nothing to get a late gift. Someone called in at the closing minutes of today asking if she could provide a Visa card number to get a gift card for us to send it to the recipient. One word, desperation.
When the store closed at 6pm, everyone was all smiles, knowing 1) we survived yet another day, 2) we get the remaining evening to do some Christmasy activities, 3) we get to have the day off tomorrow. But surely, the thought of working on Boxing Day lingers somewhere in some of our minds.

I survived yet another semester
This semester went by very hurriedly in quite a blur. I only remember the neverending string of papers and the deadlines that came with it, proving to be obstacles one after another. Somehow, I always managed to accomplish them in time. I was bursting with glee when I finished up the last exam at 9pm just now.
It has been a while since I utilized this space, so much so that it feels as though this post should bring news of utmost importance. It's lacking in that department, but sufficiently made up with jubilant delight, a long sigh of relief, and an absolutely well-deserved pat on my back for such an exhaustive, tricky term.
