nacho libre

It's been a week since I blogged. No reason why I didn't. Probably just that I didn't have much to talk about. Only that my housemate, Juyenty, had her Convocation on Tuesday, and her parents came from Indonesia. Had a little Graduation Dinner with them later in the evening. They are now touring Montreal, Quebec, and should be back tomorrow..

Anyway, went downtown for dinner with my brother, Nora and Kusuma. Thai was the choice, and we ate at this small family-owned Thai eatery, which reminded me alot of those stalls in KL. The food wasn't bad; I had Pad Won Sen (as opposed to the usual Pad Thai) with Tom Yam soup.

We then walked to Paramount to catch a movie. We were choosing among The Lake House, Nacho Libre, The Omen, or X-Men 3. The first option was The Lake House, but we were already 5 minutes late. Tickets were also selling fast since it opened today, thus we were worried we would get bad seats. So we settled for Nacho Libre. I wasn't too stoked at first, as I had a very bad tummy ache, plus the show wasn't something I thought I would watch.

It was a hilarious slapstick comedy. The show is about a friar who takes charge of cooking his speciality leftover nachos for orphans. Somehow he enlist the help of a skinny vagrant to form a amateur wrestling duo. They earn money from it, some which is used to get fresh ingredients for the orphanage. I laughed along with the over-the-top, in-your-face kind of jokes and expressions, so did most of the other movie-goers. I wouldn't say it is the best comedy, but I had a good time with it.

I would of course hoped that we had watched The Lake House too. And I'm still wondering why I haven't watched X-Men 3. Perhaps I should just d/l it. Coming up is The Devil Wears Prada. I just got the book from the library today, and hope to read it before I catch the movie.

COUNTDOWN TO KL: 3 WEEKS.
