labs
this week was the start of both my biology and chemistry labs. i was kind of looking forward to them, but at the same time nervous as i won't be in the same lab as the other people i knew last semester (specifically for my biology lab where i had a blast!).
biology
i took the exact same section: same day (wednesday), same timeslot (2-5pm), same lab room (SW237), but different TA. we are suspecting our current TA to be the wife/fiance of my previous TA. anyway i was moody as there weren't many familiar faces. and 3/4 of the session were girls.
thankfully there was sandy who sat next to me in the front row. but sometimes it's tiring as i'm always sitting with sandy in lectures too.. then alex came and things got better. at least there was another person to talk to. so 3 of us were in a group when we did our practical with the Daphnia organism where we have to count its heartbeat at different temperatures. disgusting little creature. ours died just as we were wrapping up our experiment.
next week we are going to dissect a rat! woot! eeew!
chemistry
had the lab today, and it felt different. i didn't like last semester's session, and i don't think i am going to love this session too (though it's kind of better). i like the lab room, although older, i've a larger working space with my own sink. our TA looked young enough to be on the other side of the room facing the board.
the experiment was okay. and surprisingly i managed to finish everything early, very early. as early as being the first person to walk out of the lab. shocking eh? maybe it's because i knew i was alone and had to finish the experiment independently, so somehow i got perked up.
another 4-hours straight lectures timeslot tomorrow.there's a quiz too for environmental science; the textbook is out of stock, so just now i stayed back in school to quickly skim through my friend's copy. off to being hardworking.
EDIT my professor was kind enough to postpone the quiz to next week since he knows many of us are without a textbook! yay for him and me! (:
