GA-ga
the sixth episode in season 2 of Grey's Anatomy with the title 'into you like a train' made me cry, sob and bawl REALLY, REALLY badly.
[spoiler alert!] the episode was about a trainwreck resulting in many injuries/deaths. the ER was flooded with patients, one particularly serious one was that of 2 patients (1 male, 1 female) impaled with a metal pole through them. the surgeons couldn't pull it out of them, as then they would die from excessive bleeding; they couldn't cut the pole in between them and treat each of them separately as they were too close together facing each other. they had to choose: the male or female. they chose to sacrifice the female with more extensive injuries by moving her out of the pole. despite that, the female patient still made jokes and accepted the conclusion that had befallen on her. it just made me cry from that moment on..
in the operating room, they pulled the female patient out and tried to save her. but then the male patient went into a critical condition and they just switched their attention to the male, partly also because of the bad injuries the female had. the main lead actress stood by the dying patient's side, trying to do anything she could (she was just an powerless intern), and screaming "we cannot just abandon her! we have an obligation!" over and over again. just so, she had fallen out of love at that period of time, and one of the head surgeon was the one who let her fall.
this just worsened my already uncontrollable sobs. it showed the deep emotions of the character; she was abandoned. her screams were like her own, calling all the surrounding people, especially him, not to abandon her. the whole episode was just so raw and mind shattering. the best episode of any shows i have watched yet. well, the GA rocks my socks.
i know, my continuous ramblings didn't make any sense or eject any feelings that i felt (and you are supposed to feel). you have to watch it to believe.. and since i had GA's marathon runs over the last 3 days, i finally caught up with that of the television schedule. this means tonight i can watch a recap-like episode for GA. totally stoked.
PS do you know shows that feature a certain occupation, and when you love that show, your would love that profession to be your ambition? well, GA is making me want to work in a hospital as a surgeon. so now i don't know if conservation biology is what i want, or should want. i get that the show is just a facade (but who knows?), but i can't help this idolization.. the power of the media, the influence/greatness of GA on lil' ole' me.
