grand finale
the phantom of the opera: a story untold by 4/1..
hehehe the play is a success.. we really worked hard for it to happen.. worked hard at the last min where hopes were grim.. but it paid off. we not only received laughter for our lamn and cold jokes, but also the play ran smoothly and everyone was 'chao enthu'!
we left class early like after recess. it was ah guang's lesson and we begged him to let us use his period. he refused at first but den he cam to our class gave us a wksht each and said if we could finish it before his lesson, he will let us prepare. and we did it.. well we actually had help from the 10-yr series.. alright alright mr guang's qns are either self-made or from the 10-yr series.. so we wrote out the ans on the whiteboard and everyone copied it. david said 'this is really what i call class spirit' and i so agree with it.. in a way. | :p | 0.o |
we went and prepare, changed into our costumes.. and whoah the girls in our class r like stylo-milo.. their costumes r like so in or hip-hop, revealing? yea abit.. so diff from wad they wear in sch (uniform!) and so we ran thru the play twice, and did a class cheer and we rested till the real deal.
the crowd was laughing at nearly every scene.. of course there were some mistakes like joseph's legendary line-forgetting incident (he said he forgot his line in chinese right into the mic but it was soft).. the last scene everyone came out to bow and we were like howling and clapping. den when the curtains closed we did the class cheer again and da-da, a perfect class play done in 3 rehearsals or so?
we had house meeting after sch. introduced the captain and vice-captain, and the other in-charge ppl.. the situation was chaotic, noisy. ended quite fast.
rushed off to drama's first meeting in the new yr.. the new sec 1s were there for the welcome party and so were some additional sec 2s who joined us.. we guess what? ms chow earlier said we had 14 sec 1s, but we actually had 16.. on top of that, pamy manage to get another 5 more ppl into drama club.. and wait there's more, after the 16 feb as that's when the probation 1 mnth preiod ends for all ccas, and there are some i noe who already wants to quit and join drama.. we r growing in strength and that's gd.. or else after my batch leaves drama club will be pathetically small..
we played some games and had a small party of food. everyone was enthu and i sort of noe most of the new ppl's name.. most of the seniors of drama club were present too. we ended like around 5 plus. and the next meeting will be all about seriousness to prepare for coming events.
most of us thought drama club will soon be a closed-down club but now will it be? LoL. it will grow.. and continue to impress the audience with talent for acting..

4/1 class play: phantom of the opera
every year the sec 2s and 4s will put up class plays during assembly periods, to be judged. still rmb in 2/1 we acted out an adaptation of Robin Hood.. well it was funny and organised, but i tink it lacked a motive and direction.. didn't really carry out the meaning of the play well.. so we didn't win but won as in class spirit and togetherness..
this time, 4/1 we are doing on 'The Phantom of the Opera'.. so many good and feasible ideas, yet so little time to carry them out.. we started before chinese new year, but was quite slow. the real rehearsals were like only after a day before cny celebrations and after that.. total about 3??? well today we had sort of the final preparations before the BIG day tmr.. there are still bits and pieces to be put together but i tink it will run well tmr.. [*cross my fingers]
we went through the play hoping to do it a few times and full dress, but failed to.. did only twice but sort of in pieces too.. and wat's worse was the frustrations and irritations that took place. mrs chung was sooOO angry dat she left the hall leaving us to settle on our own unless we are confident the last bowing part was ready.. i fired out (couldn't help it 0.o) and then went aside to do nothing while the rest did everything else. now thinking of it, really shldn't have been so cranky.. everyone was in a low mood and tired, frustrated. and they were putting in their best.. [sorry guys!] things are sorted out now.. and hope tmr's play will be greeeaAATTT!!! maybe it may be postpone as 2/1 didn't get to present their's today due to lack of time.. hope that happens tmr and we have more time for preparations..
i got home late.. kanna scolding by my dad and mum coz today is 'ren ri' (everyone's bday) and we were supposed to go out for dinner.. left sch around 7 and dat was the time my mum booked a place at the restaurant.. didn't talk much to them after that. i noe i'm wrong in being late, but they really dun understand how hard it is to be a student now!
it's late. my sis still has her d&t project work to do and be handed in tmr.. she is slping now but will wake her up.. hehehe will pinch her cheeks :p gotta rest well for tmr.. pray to God! nite!

year of the monkey
chinese new yr. another festival to me.. but this has deeper meaning with my roots down into it. this yr being the monkey yr, lies many mischievious and monkeying happenings eh..
well this yr's chinese new yr i spent it in kl, malaysia with my aunts.. my small aunt used to come out to singapore and spend the festival with us when my bro was still studying here in singapore.. but now it is much better. good food and accomodation there with my aunts. on wed, our sch had celebrations which was sorta boring.. i didn't get to see the whole thing as me and my sis left early and went home.. my other relative drove us into malaysia and my family had our reunion dinner with my aunts.
we went visiting the diff new places for the next few days dat have sprung up in kl.. den met my bro on webcam a few times and we had a good talked together with the others..
sunday we came back.. my relative who drove us in drove us back too.. there was a traffic jam along the way back on the highway.. took really long to get back here.. was about dinner when we reached jb so had it there.. reached home about 9 plus or so.. went to bed about 11 plus as i was really tired..
i picked up the LOTR Trilogy books that my bro left at kl

determinance.
it's been a week or so since i came on the com and online. ok did come online for short intervals while my sis using com but not for blogging or stuffs. the week has been another killer week with tests and more hmwk, extra lesson after school.. just manage to handle the hmwk in time, all last min. been slping like 2 plus each and every day.. so damn tired.. and wads worse there is more to come.. but TGIF! and chinese new yr celebrations is coming! can't wait.. will be goin to m'sia on wednesday (will go sch in the morning for my one day attendance and perhaps leave early).
i'm starting to love my class even more. since the class play discussions we seem to chat with each other more. though got objections from ppl about not wanting to act, but now at least ppl accepting the part they have to play for the class performance. really hope will be a success.. the first rehearsal coming up soon.
today had chem extra lesson, yesterday was bio. our teachers, mdm thong and mrs rama respectively are total fun ppl to learn from. dunnoe why our class didn't get them last yr.
before lesson today, went to eat lunch with ex-2/1 classmates.. been such a long time since we last ate and talk.. really miss them and the days we had though my class now is fanatically fantastic.
den after lessons went for this photo shoot for passport sized photos. most ppl bought them to keep them as souveniers as this is afterall our last yr. well we had some commotion goin on as everyone was rushing through the whole photo shoot. was quite fun in the way as everyone had this same aim- to leave asap. den we talked and joked while waiting too.. think the class is getting closer and better (not forgetting mrs chung). and by the end of the day, or so to speak, the yr, we will be one bunch of noisily, fun, higly-spirited ppl..

secondary 1 orientation camp
sec 1 orientation camp. a success? well cannot really say that as there were miscommunications, depressing and frustrating happenings. really was mind-hurling and heart unrests. went through it at least. a good experience to organise the events with the exco.. but if u ask me, i rather be an orientation group leader which i was last yr.. fun and sort of easy..
the first day, friday, started well. the station managers, lianghock, soonheng and shehnas went to bishan park ealier to set up the stuffs while the rest of us stayed back. me and michelle went around the classes to take pics after preparing for the set-off. then assembled and left all together.
games was alright. only some miscommunications here and there. hot day with the blazing sun. from the games i really saw some potential leaders, soon-to-be bimbos and gangsters, plain mischievious ones, and of course the usual lot of quiet and low profile ppl..
drizzled unexpectantly after the water break.. everyone rushed back to sch and when we did the sun came out again. playing games with us man. went through lunch which was, well sort of the trouble part- the part where the organising committee 'broke down' and we have ppl yelling at us, angry faces, troubled minds, all the usual stuffs u get when something bad happens.
the remaining time was all tent-pitching, cheer practice. nothing much. only thing worth mentioning may be the last minute exco meeting @ the council room after lunch. there was the part where u see ppl giving solemn faces, tired eyes, tears and more. but manage to pick up from there to see through the rest of the camp.
bath time was the worse. everyone took such a long time especially the sec 1 girls. i was in the boys toilet making sure they were quick. no one were willing to use the toilets with the broken doors without locks.. all borned with a silver spoon in their mouth. had to assure them that i will make sure no one dare fool around before some entered.
campfire started soon after bath, dinner, free time. the fire was pathetically weak and not appealing. the emcees were, well quite interesting and enthu and they managed to bring the atmosphere up, but their slang was irritating at times.. we had really crazy dances with ppl running around and stuffs. the most disappointing dance must be the friendship dance- after getting the ppl up on their feets and forming messy circles, sending them back to sit and come up one by one to form neater circles, the emcees decided not to have it afterall. sad. was the most interesting part last yr's campfire as everyone stood in one large circle and did the dance. the most exciting dance must be the chihuahua dance. the music was great and everyone was like jumping to the music, up on their feets. even the councillors had dance steps and everyone followed it. maybe from the organising member point of view, i found the campfire abit unbalanced. but from lots of ogls and sms point of view, they found it the best activity of the camp! wad the 0.o..
everyone went to slp and the councillors had a debrief while some ate supper provided. den went off to diff directions. slept through the night. woke up next morn, had breakfast, presented the prizes, and break camp!!!

still kicking, meaning alive.
the secondary 1 orientation camp is a few hours away. i'm in sch now. stayed overnite today after sch with most of the exco members.. had to finalise everything so now sorta completed and i'm gonna get some rest. damn dead beat. everything was like quite in a mess but we straightened things out. in a few hours time we will be preparing for school and head to bishan park and stuffs. must really get some rest.. *yawn* will be staying overnight for 2 nights, my dad was sorta unhappy over this. haiz but wad to do? sch work. station games and campfire is still a worry to me. i keep feeling that the work is uncomplete though it seems to be done, mostly i hope. see? dat's the prob. the rest say that i'm just to nervous and shld relax. well mayb, this is afterall a MAJOR event of the sch. wish the event will be a great and fun success in a way to say, coz my yr was disappointing with the pressure lamp in the middle of the hall due to the wet weather. hope today's weather will be perfect throughout.
getting past the first week of studying school days was sorta tough and mind-blasting. had to stay back @ sch till like around 6 plus each day for council work as sec 1 orientation camp which is just a few hrs away! besides that, hmwk keeps coming in and tests are falling into place for whole of next week. extra lessons for bio have been assigned and god noes wad will be next. today discussed with the class about the play soon to be put up by us. we have sorta decided on 'phantom of the opera' and soon starting to work on it.
drama auditions for the express was on tues. packed out many to add on to the few chosen the previous day. but i must say they were superb; good command of eng with a certain accent, facial expression of a certain degree. really can't wait to welcome the new ones.

wad else can u expect from the start of real school, with all those studying? clearly also not leaving out extra curricular stuffs like council and drama..
didn't really stay long in class as i went to help with the drama auditions.. really need to recruit alot of ppl.. around 25 to make up for the soon graduating batch. but wad a bummer.. sec 1s nowadays really are diff from my yr man.. we were cute, adorable and quiet. but now, turned into mouth blabbing or shld i say social maturing kids.. there were of course those quiet and extremely adorable type of sec 1s which just listened to what you had to say. today's auditions weren't that successful as in successful in recruiting ppl.. very few were keen and many were not handpicked by us.. maybe we ourselves were to choosy? well just have to pick more of those from express tmr to add up to the few ppl spotted..
well talked to ms chow today regarding drama and looks like it will be a busy yr after all! we are gonna put up a street performance during the sch's silver jubilee carnival (sumting like those mimes and clown acts i suppose). also plan to have a drama 2day1night camp to just bond together during the march hols. maybe we will put up an assembly item, but it is still under consideration. most of all, is the preparation of next yr's syf central judging.. sumting new is dat we will not have external help like karen to direct us.. instead this will really be a play of our own, a play where we get to choose the script.. but well, dat's not much of my business eh..

well hmwk is coming in once again. im now doing my geog project and then have to do a-maths which shld b easy peazy. my chinese hol hmwk which was to do 7 newspaper reviews, i finished it in 2 days.. really beat the record for me.. still tot there was no way i could finish it in time.. but i did.. and so i will finish my hmwk now. alta la vista!

the mark of the start
2nd of january.. just a day or so when we leapt cross the yr.. hmm the first day of school but last day of week zero (they just had to let us come to sch for this day) was sorta fine but abit crazy and rush-ie.. had to run from place to place since the start of morning. sch didn't start with such a bang~
got new seating arrangements.. we are now seated in fours man! totally kewl. i'm all the way at the last row with weechew next to me, sam and yiwen in front. got eng banding results.. i'm in band 1, so sitting back at the same place, focused this time coz sitting with me are ppl whom i dun really noe, so it's castaway land! oh yea and from inside tips i will be in band 1 for maths too! so unexpecting..
well i rushed home after staying back till close to 7 doing council stuffs.. these few days i will be so dead meat trying to cope studies with cca (drama and council).. can kill. back to the 'rushing home' part.. kanna scolding by my dad and sort of like had this tiff with him and my mum.. haix. they really dun understand how hard it is to be a student now eh.

see the past year 2003 go, and usher the new year 2004!
happy new year everyone! gosh how fast time past: i'm in sec 4 with just less than a year to go before leaving my secondary sch yrs.. miss time, you will never get it back. yesterday's new yr eve was nothing much to me.. well it hasn't always been to me. just another yr past by in a twinkle of an eye. another yr ahead of me to strive.
me and my sis met our mum after her work and went shopping.. well bought some stuffs and then met my dad somewhere at orchard before heading to a buffet dinner. it had little variety and for the amount we paid it was not worth going there again. we headed home like any other normal day, and watched tv, did our own stuffs. my dad turned in early.. he is working today. so countdown with my mum and sis while watching tv.. hahaha! may be going out later on. school is starting tmr; quite looking forward to it but hmwk is like.. haix.
well since it's a new yr, my new yr resolutions will be to..
1) strive towards my academic goals which is to do well in tests, exams, the Os.. study that is, but not just memorising books and chunks of info, but to learn smart and more general knowledge instead of just stuffs i need to know in sch..
2) stay healthy and fit, get tanned and grow taller!
3) be who i am and happy always, think positive!
4) get a grip on myself from coming online too often.. only weekends most probably..
5) save $ for future use.. been spending too much lately. must resave to cover up.
