being late.
i'm such a loser..
been late in wadever stuffs.
handing in of hmwk, meeting ppl, blogging past events.
i even dreamt of being late for occasions!!!
creepy..
so i better blog on council camp. :x
the council camp was fun- real fun!
haf to be one of the best council camp in my years being a student councillor though at some parts it was kind of anti-climax and boring in a way.
but at least it wasn't those tekan camp.
we could slp late, wake up late..

thursday, 24 june 2004: day one
me and my sis got ready in the morning.
we were supposed to report at 8am.
but bummer, we were late..
arrived at 8.20am. but the bus leaving for sentosa [which was the first day's activity] left at 9am.
got to know my grp members..
[me][grace][yanping][cassandra][ashwin][thulin][weixun][alvin]
at sentosa, started with some ice-breakers.
remembered how hard it was just to come up with some ice-breakers and games for the sec 1 orientation camp.. memories.
first was 7-up, then the husband-and-wife thingy, etc etc..
we slacked around for a while, before we went off for lunch at the sentosa foodcourt. was expensive there, but when ppl get hungry, they just eat.
after lunch was the real deal.
we played the human bingo, which is something like we have to complete 5 tasks to get a letter of 'BINGO'. i didn't really play, coz i was the facilitator of my grp
[not enuf ppl].sad.
everyone was eager to complete this. ran around like mad monkeys on the loose. grace was sporting, like she sang the william hung's she bangs to complete one of the tasks. the game involved alot of asking tourists [like asking for lipstick marks!].. i was kind of lenient on them [dun be mistaken, i still followed the rules].
the last part, we luckily managed to get a ride from one of the sentosa's van, and then we ran down siloso beach to arrive at the final pit-stop.
we came in second!!!
well, kind of at par coz with the first grp as they had 2 mistakes while we had one.. so evened out.
while waiting for the rest, we just idled around the beach, built a sandcastle, soaked our feet in water.
the rest came back and then it was some activity like the water-balloon catch, etc. most of the time we were just resting around.
in the evening, there was a free show! a couple was out at sea, smooching and then fiddling about. then ppl like yuru, eileen, were excited and high, commenting on the couple's actions.. lolx. all the councillors were just looking at them play about in the water.
we left sentosa, siloso beach. cleaned up and took the bus back to school. on the way, most of us were tired and knocked out. me too, and shahrum was sitting on my leg throughout the journey, coz we didn't have enuf seats.
reached school, set up our bunks.
was kindda disappointed to know that the current exco was not to sleep in the council room.. the organising committee slept there. but hack, we went to the classrooms to slp.
had dinner. pathetic. rice with sausage and veggie. but gobbled all up. then went for a shower. relaxing.
highlight one of the camp. we could watch a movie at the music room. so well, two options: brother bear or daredevil. watched the latter. cool show, but why must jennifer garner have to die?
did our reflections and later it was idling around. i played daidee with some sec 1 kiddos. then left to join the senior councillors on the parade square. we planned to slp at the parade square, so we pulled out matresses there. talked for a while until ms ng called me and shehnas up to the staff room to settle the school we wanted to invite for investiture. told us to choose, but it turned out that all the schools i wanted to invite were turned down. who bothers? shehnas did the typing, so i just snoozed off. she finished and we went down to the matress.
it was the euro 2004 match between england and portugal that morning [england broke many hearts]. wanted to watch, but was too tired.. so slept all the way through till daylight.

friday, 25 june 2004: day two
had a good slp. it was windy so wasn't that bad slping at the parade square. but everyone dat came to school dat day could see us. :x
had fried meehoon for breakfast. wasn't that bad.
set off for bishan park for another day of activites. but as soon as we reached there, heaven played a fool on us. it rained, and we had to hurry back to school.
the graduating councillors went into the council room to discuss our farewell performance for investiture. most of the time we were just laying around, some slept, some crapped. the other councillors had to attend some talk on event organisation by ms ng. they had discussions for the new committees.
then it was lunch. chicken rice. not bad.
we continued with discussions for the performance.. later we were called for games in school. started off at the parade square. then there were some problems and we were given free time.. played badminton while others played volleyball, soccer.
highlight two of the camp. there was a bbq that night! first bbq ever during council camp. ppl prepared while others played. there was music blasted. leisure camp.
the bbq started. some ate while others continued playing.
highlight three of the camp. then it was the sc fear factor and sc idol time. sounda kind of lame, but it was fun!
i joined the fear factor.. got through 3 out of 4 tasks. unbelievable eh??? wanted to quit from the start but dunnoe why just went on with it..
first task: we were to use only our mouths to pick up 5 sponges in a pail filled with mud and grass. i was on of the middle ones, and surprisingly got the best timing than previous ppl for a while. it was kind of gross, but the water was tasteless. few got eliminated.
second task: we were to eat live mealworms [4, 8, 12, 16, 20, depending on the stick that we drew]. i really didn't want to do it coz the mealworms were still wriggling about! eeeeewwwkks! i had to eat 8 [thankfully not 20], so went on with it. it was like biting into crunchy pulps. no juice though. had difficulties picking them up. went through it... everyone did it. later ppl like my sis, liyan, shehnas, grace, jiarong, etc. tried the worms.
third task: we were to raise our hands horizontally to the ground and then ice was put into our shirt [nothing much], and mealworms were put onto our hands and into our shirts. arrrghh! itchy and they sting! bit me and left their wastes on my body! me and scott quit here coz soonheng wanted to add more mealworms on my neck when there were so many there. freaked out!
fourth task: not too sure. all i know they had to run abt.
ate somemore. the bbq fire was down, so we took out the deep-fryer to deep-fry the chicken wings and sotong-balls. yummy! crispy.
then it was the idol. only grace, shehnas and randy. shehnas sang 'another sad love song' well but most of us didn't know the song, randy 'my love' wasn't that great, so grace won with her 'say it isn't so'! woohoo!
the last activity. the night trail.
this acitivity has always been the doubtful one.
either clues go missing or ppl see something.
we were tied together. my grp had clues missing.
2 grps saw things that shld not be seen.
meiyan freaked out. many did.
so the trail was cancelled and
we proceeded to cleaning up ourselves.
had a good shower, especially with all the worms crawling on my just now. ate some fried chicken before going up to the ava room for the soccer match between france and greece [greece unexpectedly emerged victor].
i watched the start. but dunnoe why fell aslp. arrgh!

saturday, 26 june 2004: day three
i was woken up by xinyu and aurina. many ppl had lef the ava room. it was late, and i tried waking the others up.
i went to clean up and then sat outside the council room watching the ncc land train with many others. grace, michelle they all were woken up by their training. hehe.
had mee goreng for breakfast,
then it was telematch in the hall.
had to spin around and do some stuffs.
fun, my grp came in first!
went to pack up. den cleaned up different areas.
it was debrief and photo-time. many of them left after, but the graduating councillors stayed back to dicuss the performance, and some sec 1s played volleyball. we stopped and played badminton before leaving.
camp was finally over.. sad. my last council camp!
boohoohoox!
me, my sis, lianghock, karthi, michelle, ashley and liyan went to j8 after that for lunch. then went to develop my photos in the digital camera of the xiamen trip.
was kindda stuck but had michelle's help.
spent $34 on it.. penniless now!
went home, took a bath and slept all the way.
didn't want to go out for dinner.
got a scolding from my father but..
all worth it.
had fun in my last student council camp.
