art tapestry 2004
art tapestry...
is music to the soul.
is a live busking, street performance, event organised by the 'high-five' youth alumni, in support of the central singapore committee development council.
aims to raise funds for the straits times school pocket money fund, for students who have financial difficulties, and at the same time, provide a platform for people to showcase their talent as they perform live on the streets.
started from today and will be held till tomorrow.. the programme is from 11am-9pm, with rock, hip-hop, pop, acoustics, jazz, oldies, folksongs..
so ppl who have missed it, go catch it tmr @ orchard road. there are 3 venues for it:
far-east plaza, paragon shopping centre, cineleisure.
i was @ paragon today.
rushed down. started almost at once..
the weather was fair on us. drizzled a few times, light ones. thought it would rain, but it soon cleared away, though it was still dark, gloomy and cold.
the loud banging music brought life back.
had this large tin. needed to walk around, asking for donations. slowly filled it up. didn't manage to completely fill it, but tried my best. shld be around 3/4 filled i hope.
aching all over now. back- upright position too long; legs- stood too long; hands- carried the tins too long; mouth- repeated my line too many times!
some ppl were generous, and one even praised the performers, telling them to keep it up.
yet, they were still some who jeered at performers [one even pointed middle finger at a grp!], and one who actually said the performers were bad!!! arrrggghhH! still she donated.. hehe.
many audiences. many smoked!
tried not to breathe in the smoke. chokey...
love the bands and performances. they were cool, doing a cover or either singing their own penned songs.. local artiste ain't that bad afterall, eh..
enjoyed myself though.
something different, collecting donations while grroving to the beat of the music in the background.
cool, like totally..
i am not going tmr. tired!
besides, i still have lots of hmwk and tests!!!
a-a-a-HHHHHH!
