anatomy: the living bodies
after the day's busy schedule dat i went thru in a slpy state (drowsed off in bio and eng lessons), i was finally awoken by the fact dat i was on my way to see dead bodies preserved with time, or plasticinised so dat it wont rot and stink. the body world's exhibition has been a big hit in spore, so it seems, and i finally went together with a whole lot of ppl for a science trip to spore expo..
the fact was i was drowsing off on the bus too.. though i had my md glued to my ears and chinese vocab paper in my hands, still could not resist the alluring urge to slp. joel, who sat beside me, did. it was a long way there.
waited like hell before we were allowed to enter. the hall was't dat big and when i made my way to the exhibits- wow total awe. bodies and more bodies stood there with either their skin, muscles, bones, arteries detached from the main body to show the diff sets of wonders of the human anatomy.
definitely no censorship. the whole body was displayed, and organs and tumours and pieces of bodies were around the place. i tink the most interesting part was the one where we were allowed to touch a sample of a brain and liver. the brain and liver looked fake; the brain looked like mooncake colour. then there was also this particular body which had a visible tatoo on his hand. well-preserved. there was also a body of a smoker with its black lungs shown. this really would have made smokers wan to quit, for some.
really left me thinking about life and a whole lot of stuffs. ppl donated their bodies for the sake of education. magnaminous. and then there was the fact dat the simplest organ or wadever in our body actually could b so significant in its importance. just like no matter how low-profiled one is, there is still things that they do best and outshine the rest.
how God created us is an amazement. the mechanisms in our body- complicated matters. figuring it out will take my slp time. so adios!
